2016 KCBS International TOY Rules
For the inaugural 2016 year, Two World Regions will be eligible for KCBS International TOY Championships: Canada and Europe.
To be eligible for TOY points, the head cook of the team must be a member of KCBS in good standing, at the time the team is taking part in the qualifying contest.
To register your team, the head cook must call the KCBS office directly or email the office at email@example.com.
The team's head cook’s domicile determines his/her team's Region of eligibility.
A team will gather points from any Sanctioned, Master KCBS contest that it cooks anywhere in the world. (including the American Royal but excluding the Jack Daniels International World Invitational Championship).
International TOY points will be awarded on the basis of each team’s top 5 highest point contests cooked in the contest year.
Qualifying dates for 2016 TOY points is: December 18, 2015 through December 11, 2016.
To prevent a tie in the top 5 positions, the following procedures will be applied. Look to the 6th contest cooked by the tied teams. This contest score will be factored in with the other five contest scores. Should this not break the tie, continue with contest 7 and so on until the tie is broken. Should a team not have cooked more than 5 contests; a zero will be input for the tiebreaking contest.
US teams and International head cooks living in the US, are not eligible to be considered for the International TOY.
The team must be sure there is not another team registered with KCBS with a duplicate name.
For each International region the top ten winners in each category and overall will receive recognition.
These are the rules for 2016. As KCBS International expands so will the number of International TOY regions.
KCBS is proud to unveil the current 2016 International KCBS Team of the Year standings. These official results represent the best efforts by KCBS to combine all event entries and points with the correct competition teams. Since there are more than 4,000 teams competing system wide this year, there may be a slight discrepancy from time to time. If you notice such a discrepancy, please contact our office. In the meantime, look back often to see how the weekly competitions change the results!
Every team at a contest will receive points, even the last place team. Additionally, every team participating in a contest will be awarded bonus points based on the number of teams at an event, up to a maximum of 35. There are no double and triple points, only the bonus points based on the number teams competing at each event. While teams will still be rewarded for doing well in large contests, this system helps to bridge the gap between the smaller and larger events, rewarding teams for their consistency on the competition circuit regardless of event size.
The following is a breakdown of the points awarded at each event. For example the third place overall finisher at a 27-team event. The team will receive 200 points plus 27 bonus points based on the number of teams competing, for a total of 227.
