Iowa’s Smokey D’s BBQ takes home Regional Championship
May 9, 2011Region 1 of the Inaugural Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour wrapped up in Las Vegas this weekend after kicking off just four short weeks ago on Gilbert, Ariz.
After taking the first grand champion title in Gilbert, Ariz., Iowa’s Smokey D’s BBQ carried their momentum all the way to Las Vegas where they took home the first Regional Grand Championship and a check for $5,000. The Reserve Grand Champion, Smoked to the Bone, took home a check for $2,500.
