May 25, 2011

 MINUTES

 PRESENT:  Tana Shupe, Wayne Lohman, Arlie Bragg, Don Harwell, Gene Goycochea, Paul Kirk, Randy Bigler, Mike Budai, Mark Simmons, Mike Lake, Candy Weaver, Merl Whitebook, and Executive Director, Carolyn Wells. 

At 7:03 p.m., President Candy Weaver called the special meeting to order.

Discussion of a Judging Infraction:  Three judges were observed drinking an alcoholic beverage between the conclusion of the Judges' Meeting and the beginning of turn-in times for a contest.  The three judges were removed from judging that contest by the contest rep.  Candy moved that the judges be placed on probation for a period of two months and, if the infraction occurs a second time, they will be suspended from judging for one year.  The motion was seconded by Paul Kirk.  Votes were as follows:

Ayes:  7            Nays:  3           Motion carried.

The Rules Committee will develop a range of punishment for rules infractions in the future. This schedule will be presented at the board meeting on June 8.

By-Laws Committee Appointment and Objectives:  Candy announced that the By-Laws Adhoc committee will consist of Paul Kirk, Randy Bigler, Bob Cope, Ardie Davis, Carolyn Wells and that she would chair the committee.  Don Harwell asked to be placed on the committee and was added.  One of the objectives of the committee will be to determine how regional representatives will be added to the Board of Directors.

A motion to adjourn was made by Paul Kirk at 7:49 p.m.  Seconded by Randy Bigler, the vote was unanimous.
