KCBS News Feed7th Team Added to Region 3 Competition
June 14, 2011 If you're competing in Region 3 for the Sam's Club National BBQ Tour, you'll now notice that 7 teams from the Baton Rouge contest have pre-qualified for the event. There were supposed to be only six; however, a recent miscommunication on the correct process led to some confusion about how many teams were supposed to advance. We have decided to honor that miscommunication by allowing the top 7 teams to move on to the region. Going forward, the original plan to have 6 teams from each local qualifier in Region 3 will still be enforced. This will lead to a total of 31 teams in Region 3, which will occur in Jackson, Tenn. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and hope that all teams agree that this decision is the appropriate action to take.
