Kansas City - Third Best BBQ City?

Share this article:
March 14, 2012
Do you think Kansas City is America's 3rd best BBQ City? The editors at US News & World Report think so (see rankings here http://travel.usnews.com/features/Americas_Best_BBQ_Cities/). But we beg to differ! In fact, we have a couple of stats to share with the editors over there that might just whet their editorial appetite:

Number of BBQ Contests in the top 3 cities:
- Memphis - 3
- Lockhart - 1
- Kansas City - 16

Number of BBQ Restaurants in the top 3 cities:
- Memphis - 167
- Lockhart - 26
- Kansas City - 297

So sink your teeth into that! Seems pretty clear to us that someone didn't do all the necessary homework. And if you agree with us, tell Emily Bratcher and the editors at US News your thoughts here: http://www.usnews.com/info/features/contact

Let the barbeque battle begin!

Regards!
