Kansas City Barbeque Society Announces 2015 Traeger Royal BattleSeptember 2, 2015
On behalf of the Kansas City Barbeque Society and its more than 20,000 members, the organization today announced that Traeger Grills will host the 2015 Traeger Royal Battle at the 2015 American Royal in Kansas City. Traeger Grills will partner with KCBS to honor and recognize BBQ teams who make exceptional BBQ on Traeger wood pellet grills. The top placing team in the open and invitational competitions that use Traeger grills will be awarded $1,000.
“We are thrilled to partner with KCBS to celebrate and support all the teams cooking and winning BBQ competitions on Traeger grills. And what better place to do that than at the World Series of BBQ, The American Royal,” said Sean Laughlin, Vice President of Marketing for Traeger Wood Pellet Grills. “A large number of Traeger employees and our dealers are KCBS members, judges and competitors, and we look forward to gathering the Traeger Nation in Kansas City in October.”
Countless KCBS BBQ championships have been won on Traeger grills and this competition will encourage any team who’s planning to compete in the 18 different qualifying categories at the 2015 American Royal to use a Traeger Wood Pellet Grill.
“KCBS is proud to partner with Traeger, a company that so many of our members trust. We are thrilled to be able to promote and celebrate barbeque with people from across the world and we look forward to seeing who will walk away from the American Royal with extra cash in their pocket,” said Carolyn Wells, KCBS Executive Director.
To compete, interested teams should simply visit the KCBS website and register. Teams that have already registered to participate include Team DivaQ, led by Danielle Bennett, host of “BBQ Crawl” on the Travel Channel, and Doug Scheiding and the Across The Track Cook Off Team, Grand Champions of the 2015 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
