Big Poppa Smokers Sweep the Competition in Tucson - Sam's Club National BBQ Tour

Spring is officially here and The Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour lucked out with a beautiful Saturday in Tucson last weekend!

A packed field of competitors duked it out, BBQ style, for $10,000 and a spot in the Las Vegas regional on April 23, 2016. BIG POPPA SMOKERS showed true mastery of the art of low and slow, and claimed the Grand Championship with an overall score of 708.0112.  Big Poppa Smokers scored first place in Chicken, Pork Ribs and Brisket - Brisket with a 180!  Wow!

Trailing behind, HICKORY AND SPICE BBQ took home the Reserve Grand Championship with a score of 693.0856. In addition to bragging rights, the teams pocketed $2,000 and $1,500, respectively. Both teams will now move on for their shot at a spot in BBQ’s National Championship.

We look forward to seeing all of the qualifying teams advance to the Las Vegas regional to compete for their chance at the National Championship event later this year.
