Founded in Jan. 2011, Rooter Tooter BBQ is a competition BBQ team from Henderson, KY combining the passion for cooking and its competitive spirit in the arena of BBQ competition events. With little experience but plenty of desire and drive Rooter Tooter BBQ plans on making an impact in the world of Competition BBQ this year and years to come.
Rooter-Tooter BBQ primarily competes in events sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), an organization of over 13,000 members worldwide, dedicated to promoting and enjoying BBQ. KCBS sanctions nearly 300 of these events across the country each year, and competitors like Rooter-Tooter BBQ compete in the categories of chicken, ribs, pork, and beef brisket at each event. Judging is done by a team of 6 certified KCBS judges on the food?s taste, and tenderness, and appearance. Scoring is ranked from 9 for excellent to 2 for inedible. Awards are awarded for each category, as well as overall rankings based on composite scores across all categories. In the end, the Reserve Grand Champion (2nd Place) and Grand Champion (1st Place) winners get to take home the big trophies and the bragging rights.
