We started out as Smokin & Chokin in 1985 when the team consisted of my wife, Cathy and Grover Jackson, who was the former owner of Grover's Smokehouse. A few years later, we changed the name to Brewer's Smokin & Chokin BBQ with team members of Cathy Brewer, myself and Dale Johnson.
We all reside in Wichita, Kansas and are members of the South Central Barbecue Society, which is an organization that consists of barbecue teams within the south central area of Kansas. The organization promotes the love of barbecue and support tournaments and the education of the fun and eating of barbecue. We mentor novices on the culinary skills of cooking and volunteer in each of our communities to assist non-profits and the underserved.
We are the owners of Brewer's Specialties, LLC and sell barbecue sauces, spices and seasonings.
