I have been cooking BBQ for approximately 10 years. In 2006, I took the KCBS Judging and Table Captain's classes to find out what KCBS judges were looking for. I began cooking backyard events the next year and have done it ever since. In 2008 a teammate joined me, Tony "Goatman" Nappier and we've been winning ever since. But, the best thing about BBQ contests are the people you are with...ain't nothing better.
