Team Bio:
A meat smoking passion for all things BBQ was ignited in Shawn and Amy while aiding Amy's Aunt's Memphis based BBQ team, Squeal Street BBQ, to a Memphis in May WCBCC trophy in 2010 and 2011. Unable to quiet their inner fireboxes until May 2012, Shawn and Amy decided to recruit some of their closest friends and form Team Meat Coma. With a few backyard practices under their aprons, they packed up 3 trucks and high hopes and heading to the 2011 MD State BBQ bash to debut their novice professional BBQ team alongside some legends of BBQ including Tuffy Stone, Myron Mixon and Lee Ann Whippen. Star struck and smoker stoked Team Meat Coma somehow managed to squeak out a 4th place trophy of their own with Amy's muffin tin chicken. In 2012 Team Meat Coma added a shiny new smoker, 2 more competitions and a few new members to their award winning team. Team Meat Coma reached their highest point at the 2014 MD State BBQ Bash in Bel Air where they won their first Grand Championship!
