LITTLE BROTHER'S BBQYear Started: 2015
In 2016 Little Brother's BBQ will begin their quest for BBQ competition domination. The team is lead by Aron, aka The Smoke Ring Wrangler, and his wife, Olivia, aka The Slicing Saucer. The team hails out of Saint Paul, Minnesota (but Detroit, Michigan is the place they call home). This whole thing started many years ago. Aron was always intrigued by the art of BBQing. After years of failed attempts at grilling he decided to finally become a student of the Que. After a dozen or so barbecue books, Rod Gray's cooking class, countless hours of watching YouTube videos, and a whole lot of practice; we have arrived at this moment. Of course there is no "I" in team, so Aron had to scout for a suitable teammate. With a limited scouting budget, and a lack of BBQ nutty fans, Aron's hands where tied and he had to draft his wife. In exchange for Olivia's commitment to the team, Aron is forced into a life of completing honey-do-lists. Oh the humanity! Together they unite as Little Brother's BBQ! You may be asking yourself, "Where did Aron come up with the name Little Brother's BBQ?" Well Aron is a little brother to his big brother Erich. For Aron, he experienced something that most younger siblings experience, and that's that the older sibling(s) believes their way of doing something is better. Well after 35 years of oppression it was time for Aron to stand up and fight! No more of your nonsense that Michigan is better than Michigan State, that Ferraris are better than Lamborghinis, that Sega is better than Nintendo, and that Fords are better than Chryslers! Little Brother's BBQ stands for all those younger siblings that didn't have a voice. "This is my way of barbecuing, and like Sinarta, I'm gonna do it my way." In 2016 the duo will compete in majority of the KCBS sanctioned events in Minnesota, and hopefully a few out of state comps. We look forward to meeting and beating folks on the circuit, collecting a few trophies and checks, and above all else, having some fun.
