BBQ Enthusiast from a young age, Tom started out smoking on a webber kettle, and shortly moved to the ECB, Learning that was a mistake, he moved up to some quality gear, After friends and family had enjoyed his BBQ, He decided he needed to do more, and start competing. Tom asked his friend Paul who was locally known for making great sauces to join up and start a BBQ competition team. The duo joined their first competition in creskill NJ, They had prepaired, made sauces, made rubs, and headed out to Red White And QUE. They had a real rough start,, Scoring near the bottom of the list, and listening to the friendly competitors wisdom tips, and tricks, They moved on. Their 2nd competition ever, The NYC BBQ Cook off, with a little bit of competition knowledge, the two placed near the middle of the pack with a 6th place in ribs, and tied for 11th place in pork, they were making progress. Life got in the way, Catering, friends weddings, and more, they missed out for a couple years only competing 2 or 3 times. in 2018 back at the NYC bbq cook off against some fierce competitors, Hocus Smokus once again ended near the bottom of the pack. This put them in a new, more serious, competition focused mind set, 2018 will be a year with more competitions and more focus on BBQ.
